PUPPIES
At Rovers Retreat our puppies are all locally breed. We do not buy from interstates puppy farms. All our puppies are vaccinated, vet checked for any health problems, treated for worms and flea treated. We offer a 10 day health guarantee. All our puppies are fed Advance puppy food while waiting to be sold, and all puppies sold take home a free bag of Advance puppy food to avoid tummy upsets.
KITTENS
Kitten season is usually from November to May. During this time we are offered hundreds of kittens for re-homing although we only take a small number. We have kittens that are vet checked, wormed, vaccinated and flea treated and we also have kittens that are not vet checked. On both kitten types we offer our 7 day health guarantee. While our kittens are in our care we feed them a diet of fresh meat and Advance dry kitten food, we supply a small sample bag of Advance kitten food for your kitten; we strongly recommend you keep your kitten on this diet for at lease 6 months to give your kitten the very best start in life. All kittens should be sterilized at least 5 months of age to avoid unwanted litters.
RABBITS
Rabbits make great pets for all ages and are quite low maintenance. Rabbits eat pellets that are specially formulated for there needs. They will also need fresh fruit and vegetables daily as well as fresh, clean drinking water. Rabbits should never be fed lettuce or cabbage. Hay is a good source of bedding for cold winter night but we recommend pine shavings as the floor base as this soaks up the urine and protects their hocks. Rabbits are vulnerable to myxomatosis and calisie viruses so we recommend covering your hutch with fly wire to protect your rabbit from mosquitoes as these are the main culprit that spread this type of disease.
GUINEA PIGS
Like Rabbits, guinea pig make great pets for all ages and are quite low maintenance. Guinea pigs eat pellets that are specially formulated for there needs. They will also need fresh fruit and vegetables daily as well as fresh, clean drinking water. Like rabbits, Guinea pigs should never be fed lettuce or cabbage. Hay is a good source of bedding for cold winter night but we recommend pine shavings as the floor base as this soaks up the urine and protects their feet. Guinea pigs do not retain vitamin C so you will need to supply vitamin C enriched foods.
